Checking In

Checking-in can be hassle-free at KFIA. Here’re some tips to make your check-in straight-forward and more efficient.

Where to Go
Check-In is on the Departure level. Rows 1 to 3 are designated for Foreign Carriers, while Saudi and other Domestic Carriers occupy rows 4 to 6.

How Early to Arrive
Here’s a sound piece of advice to all travellers: make sure you get to the airport in plenty of time!

  • For Domestic flights, we recommend two hours prior to departure time.
  • For International flights, we recommend three hours prior to departure time.

Check-In
Before proceeding to the check-in counters, have your own valid passport, valid visa if necessary and air ticket ready. All passengers should check that they are issued with the correct boarding passes and that their travel documents are in order before leaving the check-in counter.

Self-Service Check-In
KFIA offers self-service check-in as alternative to traditional check-in desks for Saudi Arabian Airlines. Simply use the computer terminal to choose your seat and print your boarding card, then take your baggage to the bag-drop facility.

Baggage
Most airlines allow up to a maximum of 20kg of baggage to be checked in. For baggage exceeding 20kg, you may choose to either air-freight it as unaccompanied baggage or pay an excess baggage charge. Please check with your airlines for more information.

Passengers are advised to remove all security items from their cabin baggage before boarding their flights. For more information on cabin baggage allowance and security items, please check with your respective airlines. Please be aware that there are limits on the number and size of bags and on the quantity of liquid items which can be carried through security control.
